Mud Pan
The mud pan is used for holding the joint compound while performing the repair. The mud pan has a clean straight edge that is used to even out the compound on the drywall knife. The pans can be made of plastic or galvanized metal. The pan should be cleaned well in between each use for it to work effectively. These pans cost between $4.00 and $8.00 depending on the material they made from.
