Drywall Saw The drywall saw is used to cut out the damaged piece of drywall. They can cost between $4.00 to $8.00 depending on quality. The blade has a pointed tip and can be twisted to bore through drywall to begin cutting along the outline you traced for the patch. If you are creating an access panel on undamaged walls, the kerf (thickness of the cut) is perfectly sized to receive the patch and drywall repair clips.
